Exhaust Brake cuts out at the WORST time
So making my way down from Donner summit on the 80 through the Sierras, my Pac Brake EB won't kick on. I have a Viair compressor unit and 1 gal tank. My question to you guys is if there is a thermal overload or protection circuit on the compressor motor that shuts it down if it is too hot? I heard the solenoid kicking on and off, but the compressor wouldn't fire up. The next morning the EB works just fine. The rest of the trip down the 395 worked fine the whole way!

compressor sits on top of the engine on the intake side. probably not enough airflow since the padding from the hood rubs on top of it. I will need to relocate the compressor.

i had the same problem going through Denver a few summers ago and it was recommended that i move the compressor intake to the front of the truck so it gets cooler air.
