10 mpg?
My cuz bought a 2006 2500 shortbed 5.9 with 315k on it to pull a travel trailer weighing about 5500lbs. He is only getting 10 mpg; figured he would get better fuel mileage than that.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Almost all travel trailer tires are limited to 65 mph. Going faster wastes fuel due to drag and invites explosive tire failures.
I get 12-14 towing my trailer with either of the two trucks in my sig.

Agreed. Even dropping to 60 will increase mpg.
I got around 12 towing a 30’ 5th wheel with an 03 SRW 3500.
I get around 10 with my current dually and 40’ 5th wheel. Being also signifantly taller it pushes more wind.
A 5k travel trailer should do better than 10, unless bombing along at 75 or something.
