Engine Noise

Seams to be alot of talk about "noise" on the board. My 2003 555
has gotten louder with time. Hacking off the muffler didn't help either. However, I have heard a couple of the 05 units and I can say for sure that mine was never that QUIET! Plus that cat. in the exhaust sytem makes them smell like a gas rig. Any other comments?

Add some Cetane boost and it will quiet down nicely:cool:

Mine has got a tad louder, enough for the wife to notice. I was @ a light today and the GEN II pulled up and I said now that is a diesel:D . My wife looked @ me like I was crazy and said mine better not get that loud:mad: Too me, the clatter is a sound of authority. I think by adding a cat on the others, muffled them a bit. Glad I didn't get one, but we will eventually all have them.:(

When I got about 5K on her she did get a slight bit louder...sounds like a diesel now.:D

Mine is louder now also, I have 8600 miles on it now. I like the sound!
