Engine Exchange - 2005 for a 2006?

Busted an exhaust valve 20k miles ago, no damage to the cylinder walls. Replaced the head, re-ringed (supposedly), replaced turbo, etc. 20k miles (2 years) later, dropped a cylinder, major blow by. Shouldn't be happening, but it is, and it strongly suggests the original repair wasn't done correctly. Truck has never been abused (pyro installed, etc.) and so I'm thinking I'll replace the whole thing. Found a rebuilt 2006 (automatic) and would like to know if it is interchangeable with my 2005 (also auto).

Insight appreciated!

I am 99% sure it will be a direct replacement.
