Early 03' autos with 47re??
Early 03' autos with 47re??
are the 47re trannys pretty crappy? alot of people have told me the 48re is alot better of a tranny... should i just keep lookin for one with the 48re in it?
this is crazy but i have a buddy with an 03 so 47re truck dually. he has a htb2 turbo, stage 2 cp3,tst early twins,ez,flux 3's,fass 150.he runs mid 14's at the track. stock 47re tranny. hes on borrowed time but there stronger than what there made out to be.
He's not on borrowed time he's on overdraft and the collection companies have him on speed dial. A built 47re will or can be upgraded to be just like a 48re....If you were going to build the tranny right away I'd get the truck first. Plus you can just trade the tranny as a core to a builder and you will get a 48re back. If it is a great truck at a good price go for it. If you can find a 305 with a 48re you will be a little better off in the short run. ks
i have the 47re, third truck to have it. currently at 61k and problems whatsoever, whole U.S. made truck has been that way. i just put in new converter valve body and a few other items, they were not needed just wanted. it is even better now no tranny lag pulls better and seems to have lost some drone. if the 47 is a deal do not be afraid of it i would just check very closely to insure the previous owner had not been out hot rodding it.
