Dyno numbers..

Hey all...

Had my stock 05/2500 with 35"tires and 373 gears on the dyno yesterday..

It was a loaded Mustang Dyno.

The HP was about what I expected... 3 runs 231 / 228.8 / 228.8

But the torque was a big disappointment 450.6 / 448.6 /

Has anyone else Put their 05's on a dyno ? If so what were the results?

My truck does have the injector knock at idle in gear... Do you think this could be causing the low TQ numbers???

Gerry

from what i seen on mustang dynos, those numbers look in line, tq might be a tad low

the powerstoke and duramax are usually in the 250-280hp @ 450 to 550 tq

cummins is usually the lower hp when stock

Mustang Dyno is going to read lower than a Dyno Jet.

Must be the Mustang dyno. My 04.5 dynoed 285 stock and now that I have the
Rokktek sensor mod it dynoed 301. These were all on a Dynojet.

Stroke and Buddy, were these numbers STD or SAE? It's def. the MD...their supposed to provide more of a "realistic" number.

Your 35" tires are killing you. If you had stock tires, you would probably be about 250 on the Mustang.

Mine was 280/528 stock on stock 265 tires. Either your tires are sucking all your power or there is something wrong.

STD and SAE are going to be close. What you need to know is were those numbers corrected or actual. There will be a big difference in those two.

Typically, you want to look at actual on any forced aspiration vehicle (turbo, supercharged, etc.). Dyno manufactureers don't have the correct correction factors used for our trucks or cars with turbos or superchargers.

I have 37's and dynoed 550/1050...so they can't hurt to bad. That is on a Mustang too...ok..ok...so the fuel is there!

Seriously...those numbers sound just a tad low. My truck dynoed 230/500 before mods...you should be a little bit above that. Maybe you need to "break" it in more.

My '03 dynoed @ 259/480 on 35's, you should be higher than that. It might have been operator error in regards to the dyno.

Don't confuse Rated HP from the factory, that is flywheel HP. You will loose between 15 to 20% by the time it gets to the rear wheels.

Guys, My math says 35%. Y'all need a tighter torque converter, some bearings on your midshaft and full synthetic. ks.
