Double checking F&R diff service
I recently serviced my front and rear differentials. The rear I removed the cover and wiped it clean. The front I was unable to remove the cover due to the metal bars under there, but I was able to loosen enough of them to pry the bottom open gently with a straight blade screwdriver to drain it. I filled them both to 1/4" from the hole with 70/90 W Mobil 1 Synthetic.
BTW I tourqued the cover bolts to 30lbs and the fill plug to 24lbs. Does all this sound right...(outside of the gearlube preference). Where can I get the Amsoil gearlube so many of you talk about. All I could find to use locally was Mobil 1 and with no preference, that's what I used, and it wasn't cheap. Just want to make sure I did this right... my first time and all. If not I'll redo it.:D thanks for any input. Jamie |
You have to buy Amsoil from an Amsoil dealer. That way you can help all those above you in their pyramid scheme.

I hear you!!!
