Do 3rd gen blow oil on steep descents?

I have access to the local military base and occasionaly like to play around 4 wheeling in the tank training course. One day I decided to see how steep of an incline I could descend and climb. Well I was blown away, the truck has so much torque my 2002 4wd will climb and descend hills that you would have difficulty walking!! But I discovered a problem. When I reached the bottom of a slope there was oil all over the edges of the hood When I looked under the hood it was coated in oil everywhere. The engine ran perfectly and the oil level was OK so I drove it to the dealer. His explanation is that the trucks crankcase blowby collection bottle was full and when I tipped it oil ran out. Well that wouldn't be abig deal normally but some genius at Dodge put the bottle right above part of the serpentine belt. So the slightest spill gets sprayed everywhere.

Sorry for the long story. My question is, did the bottle get moved or changed so this can't happen to 3rd gen trucks?

They changed it on the 3rd gens, bypassed it back into the pan if I'm not mistaken, I'm still learning about these 3rd gens. I have a fix for your 2nd gen if your interested. It costs about $10.00.

Your in SLO huh? I work @ Kimball Motor Co. Drop me a line if ya want to get together and yap or lunch sometime.

Whats routed back to the oil pan or fuel trank? Oil? If thats how I've read those posts oil is NOT routed back to the pan or fuel tank from the blow by tube. Its routed straight down to the ground.

It appears that his truck is a second gen. , and they have a bottle that the blowby tube goes into on the front of the engine. Actually it is a vent coming out of the injection pump gear cover, and yes it is above the belt and a real pain in the rear end! Needs dumped every couple of oil changes or they leak all over the engine and get sprayed around by dripping onto the belt.
