Differential Question for 2007 5.9 Owners
I was killing a little time checking out the Dodge website and comparing the options/costs on the 2007 2500s to my 2006 2500. One thing I noticed is that as you go through the "Build Your Vehicle" steps on the website, when you get to the powertrain page and choose the 5.9 engine you wind up with a 10.5" rear axle. The website says that the 11.5" is only available with the 6.7 engine. First I heard of this. Of course, Dodge's website may be wrong.

That is very interesting!! Can you still spec a truck with the 5.9 on it???? If so, then they are really behind!! LOLOL

Are you sure it doesn't say 5.7L? Most likely they mean the HEMI engine and have the displacement screwed up. You can't get the 5.9L Cummins anyway.....

Just bought a 2007 5.9L Lone Star edition which is one of three towing packages available in Texas, the options included a 11.5 rear axle and limited slip. This is a 2wd truck with 4 speed auto trans. This was shown on the sticker

I looked a little closer and it is a screwup on the Dodge website. If you go to "Build Your Own" and select a SLT Regular Cab 4x4 it tells you that the 5.9 is only available with a 10.5" differential. If you check another body style or trim level it tells you that the 5.9 and 6.7 both come with a 11.5" differential.
