different dealer, this happens so often with the dealers, first thing to do is try a different dealer.
have you been keeping up with changing out your fuel filter? and who has been doing it, dealer or yourself?

I would call Dc's 1800 number and chat with a manager. Inform them of the discussions on this and other websites about fuel tank contamination and how it may have happend from poor quality control on their part in reguards to the tank vents.
If all else fails call the automoitve arbritration board.

Good luck and keep us informed.

Well technically that filter will filter out any water and contaminants down to 10 microns.
What I would do is get a fuel sample from the tank pre filter. (use a clean glass jar and disconnect the rubber fuel line running along the frame rail before it enters the filter) Once you get this let it sit for a few minutes. Then with a lid on the jar swirl the fuel inside of the jar. once the fuel swirls you will be able to see any water (bubbles at the bottom of the swirl. and any other debris.

Next do the same after the filter, collect a fuel sample in a glass jar and do the same,
Let them both sit for a few mintues then compare them to each other. See how much sediment and that is in the jars.

make sure the dealer is there to watch you.

Did you ever have the open elbows on your tank top blocked off with a line and a little filter on end of line. These elbows set in a concave on top of your tank and let water right in there. Been thread after thread on this . Dodge finally had a recall for 06s about this but the problem has existed for years.

Water can and will destroy an injector, but the question is how the $#@^ did it get there. The Rated filter for this application is a water fuel seperator.
This brings up a good point about using another brand other then FleetGuard (Cummins Filtration new name). That is other filters may not be rated as a water seperator. Be carefull which filters you use.

DC is not the last word on this! Sue them and the gas (fuel) station in small claims court and let the judge sort it out. You'd be amazed at how peoples' attitudes change when they receive the summons. Also, '03-'05s have the same open fuel tank vent problem as the '06s, but are not part of the recall. DC is clearly trying to prevent future problems without admitting existing ones.

Or maybe you recall seeing a big puddle of water on the ground directly below the filler neck on a dry day shortly before all this started.

I still cannot understand how water bypassed the fuel filter. Ask them how possibly the water bypassed the filter and managed to get to the injectors.

If the fuel filter is a genuine Cummins brand filter then Cummins themselves will warrenty their filter and damge caused by it if it failed to meet the proper specs to filter out water.

I am suspscious that the dealership is trying to get free money out of you.

Ask them for a fuel sample and for the amount of water in the fuel.
Matter of fact go get your own fuel sample before they do.

Something is not right about this situation. Either we have not been told the whole story or Chrysler is not standing behind their product.

Keep us informed.

Also as above defineatly get a fuel sample and have it analized by the company that you bought the fuel from being sure to keep a sample for yourself incase there is a question. In fact have the fuel distributer check for you with your Dealer, maybe the fuel company putting pressure on the dealer might change the outcome. Other wise you may have the open vents on your tank as above then it should be a DC problem even though you might have to fight it with the dealer & DC.

Also look at this web site for information and maybe some advise on how to tackle this issue.

Good Luck..............Don

just an update , as of yet no warrenty or help from dc . chrysler customer service asked me to send them my invoice from dealer for what they call good will consideration? my insurance company may cover it im waiting to see !
so far this has cost me 5800 for six injectors and labour ,700 in truck rentals I figure 1000 in wages and hotel rooms. I have a fuel sample and i also paid 1100.00 more for the core charge for injectors in question im trying to find a place to test the injectors and get a written report and also a some to test the fuel sample.
guess you could say im gathering the evidence to make a case !
