Cruise control won't stay on

I can't get my cruise to stay locked on it especially doesn't like when their is a load on back or going over 65-70mph without a load. Been to different mechanics and the dealer and they checked everything over but its still goes offs randomly. if I am not towing it works a lot better and may work all day and other days it only stays on for a few seconds then un engages. Please help!

Need to know what year you have. The 03' to 04.5' have vaccum pumps. The 05' and up are drive by wire.

If you have the vacuum pump you probably have a cracked hose.

That's the thing, that was checked, dealer did a whole diagnoses and found nothing wrong then dug a little deeper and found a faulty check valve but that didn't solve the problem. Any other options people can think off. Thanks though

If it has the common issue with the vaccum system then the poly line has a pin hole in it somewhere where it is rubbing or the vaccum pump is on the way out. Make sure to check the vaccum tank that is under the cowl panel. You can see the hose that goes through the firewall. Does the vaccum pump run alot?

It also could be the apps. The cable coming out of the cruise dashpot goes to the apps. If the apps has a bad contact, this could also cause the issue. Need to get it to cut off while in use and watch it with a scanner to see why it cut off. Any codes? Do the key on and off to run trick 3 times and see if any PO codes show up in the odometer readout.

The motor used to run a lot then me and a buddy found a rub mark on hose and replaced that and that stopped motor from running all the time but cruise would still fail with a load on it

You may have a worn out vaccum pump since it was running all the time. That'
s normally why they go out.
