cruise control, is it a vacuum system?

Last few months i have noticed a very slight problem while using cruise control. ON flat ground i have no problems at all but once i start going up a incline, the truck has a very slight jerking feeling, like someone is pressing and releasing the gas pedal. If we have a vacuum system this would make sense.

I do have the APPS on my truck and my gas pedal moves with the cruise control. or anyone else had this issue. I already checked my fuel filter.

it may be, it depends if its drive by wire or the old cable system. drive by wire is not vacuum operated.

If the APPS is under the hood it should be a vacuum unit.

You may want to check the vacuum line from the firewall "T" to the reservoir on the driver side fender under the battery. You can find the vacuum line by tracing it from the vacuum pump located in the passenger side firewall, upon start up, it will make noise until it build vacuum. I found my plastic lines to have 2 leaks due to wear. Remove the passenger battery, remove the inner fender cover, and remove the plastic line - very hard to find the leaks, feel for wear.
