Clicking coming from front end, driver side
I noticed a noticeable click from the front end backing out of the driveway. I am notr sure what it might be. I have noticed itr a couple of times since when going slow and turning the steering wheel. I can not notice it when driving on the road.

If you want a response, then it is necessary to tell us the details of this vehicle. Presume it is a truck, but what is the year and model? Is it a 2wd or a 4wd? Then after the problem is resolved you need to come back here and tell us what the problem was so that we can all learn.

I'm betting a worn out U-joint on a 4x4 truck....

That was my thought too.

I have a 2004.5 RAM 2500 5.9, 2 WD, Quad Cab, no mods, all stock, except for a FS2500 bypass oil filter, 220K miles.
Thanks. |
I think that your vehicle has the one bearing front hub. There has been numerous reports here of that bearing failing. Do a search and you will find a couple of threads on how to change this bearing yourself. There is also advice on where to buy the correct bearing a lot cheaper than from the dealer.

About ten years ago I replaced the front left hub. I bought a second hub. It is maybe time to exchange it? I bought Timken back then. Better than factory part.

My vehicle is 2-wheel-drive.
I think is is a body/frame issue. The sound comes when the chassis and body twist in corners, down slopes, irregular terrain, etc. Sounds like it is mid-cab. I have scheduled to have my mechanic look at it. I'll let you all know. Thanks, GP |
