Changing Mirrors

So the mirrors on my truck I am not happy with, they are the goofy 1/2 ton mirrors that do not flip on its side. How hard would it be to replace them with the towing mirrors? My truck does have heated mirrors but while towing I am not happy with them. . ., any one done this, I did a quick search but didn't find anything relevant.

Thank you,

jer

I had mine changed on my earlier truck to the towing mirrows. It only takes about 30 minutes and isn't hard at all if you do it yourself. I got the dealer to do mine cause they said they'd do it for 20 bucks while I was having the oil changed. I figured it was worth that not to have to fool with it. If you do it yourself be sure when removing the door panel to lift up on it and not just out. Otherwise you'll strip out the plastic anchors.

One philips head screw and 3 10mm I believe bolts ratchet wrenches work the best. No need in removing the door panel just unsrew the philips head and pull it back and slid ratchet wrench down in their and have at it. I have done it on several trucks shouldnt take more then 20 minutes.

Looking on Ebay there are tons of options, i called the Dodge dealer they want $404.00 a pop, there are plenty of options though, I would prefer genuine Mopar parts, any one know of a better place to be looking besides Ebay?

Thank you,

Went over to the local Dodge dealer parts department, part #'s 55077444AM (right) and 55077445AM (left) which are the power/heated for a 2007 2500 are the correct mirrors and $404.00 a pop, but according also to the same guy Dodge sells a kit that contains both the right and left side mirrors, same part number as above as an accessorie for $363.00 for both sides, part number you ask. . . 82207298. They are available on Ebay for about $262.00 plus 15 bones for shipping.

I did this to my truck less than two weeks ago. Found a pair on e bay from a Texas Dodge dealer (Mopar) and paid $280 plus shipping. Took me less than 15 minutes to install them. Take out the phillips screws pop the panel up and out a little and you can access the nuts. Three on each side, 10 mm if I remember correctly. Unplug the wiring and reverse to install.

Anyone can do this mod it really is that easy!

I paid 180 apiece for my non heated/power mirrors on my 03 to replace and only 289 for pwr/heated mirror for my 07 when someone knocked it all to pieces (**** winebago). That is employee cost from dealer but seriously check out ebay their are lots of options even some in the classifieds.
