Cat good or bad?

Hello all, I was just wandering if taking the cat of is a good idea? My truck is straight piped and I have always wandered if I should have removed the cat. If one does remove the cat does it void the warranty and how does it sound?
Thanks in advance.

You better PM people about it because this thread is going to get locked down faster than you can blink your eyes! [laugh] THey don't want people discussing stuff that is prohibited by law. Given today's rediculously oversensitive culture, people might hold the moderators and administrators of this site responsible...Sad, but true!

Yea and they pull post like the one truck from FL had his wife standing next to his truck[laugh]

Didnt know that this was such a sensitive subject, dont want to get anyone in trouble or start threads that get shut down. I was just wandering what is the real purpose of the cat since earlier diesels didnt have them?

I wonder why? It was just his wife in a bathing suit. Nothing you wouldn't see on a beach.

Will they really shut this thread down? If you want some good imformation about this pick up the Feb. issue of Diesel Power, they had a short article about turboback v. cat back exhaust systems.

As far as I know, here in Canada it is not illegal to remove the cat. And I think that in most states it is not illegal, maybe cali. But the gains were impressivein the diesel power mag article... too bad about the pics with the girl in it. She was very nice to look at,, I mean the truck was very nice to look at
