i'm am watching an 2003 dodge, and asked the guy if it has an SO or an HO and he sends me this info "5.9L. L6 HPDI TRBO DSL" this won't tell me will it?

 

ask him the hp rating on the tag of the valve cover. the info he sent you is standard for all models of the commonrail.

 

Is HO in 6 speed only?

 

Early "03" autos were SO....then they went from the 47re SO to the 48re HO mid year.....not sure of the build date.

Its is an awesome truck...I had an 03 and ran it for 50k....Thats usually as far as i go due to the fact that its a business write off....But i did snowplowing and some heavy towing....it never let me down....and whenever you are looking at the engine code in the VIN for the HO it will be C for SO it will be 6
