Broke camshaft?
Broke camshaft?
Hello, My truck died on the way to work, it sounded like something broke and then shook to a stop. When I tried to restart it sounded like timing was off and wouldn't start. The only code I had was a P0341 which came earlier (I just replaced cam position sensor, but it was still intermittently throwing that code). I pulled the valve cover off and turned the engine over and only the rockers for number one were moving. I am guessing broken camshaft. Does this sound right. The engine has less than 50k on it. Thanks for any input!
On mine (2006) the Cummins Diesel engine warranty is 5 years or 100k mile. It's funny though, when my dealer replaced the engine it had an oil leak which they found to be the camshaft seal. When they replaced it, it leaked worse. When they looked at it again they found that their mechanic put the seal in wrong. Now my camshaft appears to be broke?

And what makes it worse is the engine was replace at about 20k and there's only 55k on it now.
