Brake Pads
Lots of good suggestion. Thank you all. I'll choose what I think best and I'll post my experience with them after I drive a while. I'm not hauling stuff instead I do mostly highway driving in southeast USA and there is plenty of crazy drivers out there, especially in GA and FL. I've changed the factory pads on the front only, at about 36k miles or so and at the time I've put in the Autozone brand, about 2y ago. Now that I have about 70k miles, they worn out, again the front pads and I want to find even better ones. This time I will change front and rear pads and I'm thinking to replace the rotors also.

OEM got me 115k on the front. Unhappy with the dust, I switched to EBC greenstuff. Loved the performance but gone after 40k. Using Napa premium now. Seems more like OEM performance without as much dust. Only 20k wear so far and looking very good.
I installed EBC's Greenstuff pads on my 03 and immediately noticed a vast improvement in stopping power. I also installed EBC Greenstuff pads and blank rotors on my 01.5 over two years ago. I find that dust is a non issue. Any dust that does accumulate on the wheels is light in color and washes right off. I have been very pleased with their overall performance, especially while towing. I have 38,000 miles on the Greenstuff pads since installing them on the 01. The pads have alot of material remaining on them.
EBC brake pads (Greenstuff) are now available at Pep Boys stores.

If you are changing brake pads and rotors, spend the money and upgrade to EBC Slotted/dimpled with Greenstuff pads. I went this way years ago and braking is significantly improved. See sig for "upgrades" braking was an issue until I switched. The only issue was the noise during initial brake in. Once the pads seated, everything was quiet again. Best of luck!!
i went with the EBC GREENS and noticed a vast improvement over factory stopping but they are destroying the new rotors i replaced at the same time as the brakes and EBC does not want to hear it they say their brakes would not do that and i only have around 5000 miles on them with maybe 200 miles of towing less than 10000lbs.

You did not mention the brand of replacement rotors and at what mileage you replaced the OEM rotors at? I do not recommend using the imported aftermarket rotors because of my experiences related to quality and the number of new rotors that fail to meet minimum thickness specifications.
Thanx MrJerry as that is exactly what I was looking for. If I can get 120k out of the OEM's with minium dust and acceptable brakeing no need to try to reinvent the wheel so to speak. Like "if it ain't broke don't fix it". However somes philosophy is "if it ain't broke fix it 'till it is".

Here we are three months down the road since I asked about brake pads and rotors and because I've tried to balance the little money I had with the best possible quality I could buy with them, I've decided to go with Autozone where I replaced my front pads for free having purchased a lifetime Gold set about two years ago, and I will do it again in two years from now. I've also purchased the front rotors from them for about $130 and the rear brake pads, Severe Duty set for about $60 or so. One thing about SD pads, they came with shorter shims then the original, factory shims so I had to modify them instead of taking another trip to the store. They work fine. The rear rotors are looking good so I didn't have to change them. Changed them all by myself and saved some money. All in all I spent less than $200 and about three hours. Now, after driving about 5k everything looks and feels good. Stoping power is good, even and prompt. I do get some dust on the front rims but that doesn't cost me anything. Autozone has decent to good quality parts and also I save $20 for each $100 I spend so actually the whole job was even cheaper. Hopefully the front will last me another 35k miles. Hope this help. Thank you all again for your inputs.
Back from the dead, but I just read this thread and decided on the EBC 6000 series pads for my 2005 with 60K and worn out front pads. For reference, the part numbers are below and I found PartsGeek.com to be the cheapest I could find, with shipping factored in.
