Which Bilstein?

I have searched the posts and pretty much decided to change my factory shocks with Bilstein 5100's but the website I went to has several different choices all of which require me to indicate how many inches of lift my truck has. My truck is a bone stock 03, 2500 4x4, 5.9. Is it "lifted" from the factory? Which shock is right?
Thanks,

TXPower

I didn't like the yellow & blue ones on my 2003- way too soft. Try the silver ones, they seem to get good reviews on here.

So are the sizes color coded or do the silver ones have a different code number?

Thx,

The silver ones or 5100 series shocks are designed with trucks who have a leveling kit or +2" lift. They are not designed for stock trucks. The HD (Blue&Yellow) is designed for stock height trucks.

The 5100's (silver color) will work on a stock ride height truck too. I've done it in the past and I know there are others on this forum at stock height with the 5100's.

They'll work just fine. Just more expensive and no extra benefit for a stock truck.

I LOVE the 5100 that I put on my truck last year....they are MUCH better riding and handling, both loaded and unloaded, then the oem shocks.

That being said, there are TWO models of the silver/black 5100 shocks.
One part # is for stock(0") to 2" lift and the other # is for 2" to 4" lift. If confused by which you need, call genosgarage...they have excellent customer service and extremely competitive pricing.
