Best Online sources for CTD service parts?
Best Online sources for CTD service parts?
Hi All,
Now that I am a proud owner of a CTD, I need to know the best places to buy service parts? Where can I get the best parts for the least money?
Thanks,
Bill

I feel for the money, you can get reasonably priced, good quality filters and such from Napa and Car Quest. And you don't have to wait while they are being shipped. JMHO
I found the best price to be my local dealer with just a bit of incentive.
I needed a short block, list $6200. I got a price out of state for $4800 + 300 shipping each way for the block and the core, but no sales tax. I went down the list of every dealer within 50 miles of me and told them I was buying a short block and was trying to decide between a local purchase or internet. Some refused to budge from full list. Some gave me a discount, and two of them matched the $4800. The one I bought from delivered for free and came back to pick up the core when it was ready.
A few days later I got the web price for some other parts and went to my local dealer and asked for a discount. They wouldn't match the 25% off list I found on the web but they did 20% and had the part for me the next day.
A lot of the time, the local dealer would rather have a small markup than nothing.

for filters definitly go to your local semi-tractor dealers first, they under sell genos by 20-25% plus theres no shipping charges and all they sell is quality fleetguard or catipillar products.Rockauto.com seems to be the place to go for chassis parts.ball joints, ujoints and brake stuff.
