I had a PAIR of costco group 850 cca batteries in for a year and noticed my terminals corroded, cleaned em and a week later they are worse, clean em and spray with sealer and then the entire top of batteries and box was covered with corrosion. Fought them because my membership expired but finally got my money back and bought Diehard Platinum's -1 the other day and started like it was summer time after preheat of course.

I think Sears owns Consumer Reports.

Interstate Batteries are great. I've had them in my RV 7 years and boiled them out every year, brought them back from the dead every year, froze them solid as a brick and thawed them out and re-charged them and they just keep going. Tough batteries.

I'll throw in my .02
I have run both the Optimas and Napas Orbitals in my plow trucks, boat,TravelTrailer and crane and love thier performance and durability
Currently I have 3 Optimas that this is the 5th year plowing and they show no signs of ageing
IIRC the ratings on the Optimas do show slightly lower CCA but they have a much higher Reserve Capacity
I have left mine unpluged for 3+ days at -20 and she fires right up even without the # 3 Battery (#3 goes with the rear plow)
and you wouldnt belive the number of Dead and Frozen Kenworths and Macks Ive started with em
Personally I wont buy another std wetcell Battery

have personally had very good luck with optima's, currently own 9 of them in various vehicles the oldest 4 or 7 years old and 0 failures to date. the 03 factory batteries seem to be exceptional have a set myself that will be 8 yrs old in june and still going strong

my experience.

04.5 truck built June 04...original batteries.

05 truck built Spet 04....original batteries.

Wondering which truck will need new batteries first but I wont replace them until they die. I have read elsewhere of batteries lasting 10 years or more so I will roll the dice & see what happens.
