Battereis dead after 3 days, Spec for key off draw?
 

If my truck sits for a few days the batteries are too low for it to start, after a week its stone dead.

I've charged it up and checked the batteries and they are good and its charging good.

Key off draw show 2.5amps till the interior lights go out and and then 1.1amp till my brake controller shuts down then its at .085amp. Disconnect the brake controller and it drops to .070amps. I seem to remember from somewhere that .025amp was the norm for a key off draw. Anyone know the Dodge spec for a 2006 2500?

I did have a code awhile back for the grid heaters so I removed the power cable for them from the passenger battery completely so that shouldn't be causing an issue. Terminals were cleaned and tightened when this first started happening.

Your numbers do not compute. If the actual current draw is as you say, the batteries would not be discharged in 3 days with the assumption that your batteries are good as you say. Please recheck your batteries, charging system and re-measure those current draws, something you stated is incorrect.

How old are your batteries? My prodigy brake controller goes into sleep mode after 15 minutes of inactivity.

Batteries are about a year old. I suspect I have an intermittent draw.

My 04.5 has set for 2 weeks 4 days, went out and it started right up, volt meter was 12. Volts, my batteries are about 3 years old,

Last winter the truck sat for a month and fired right up after, now after 3 days it struggles which is why I think it has a problem.

which battery is causing the draw, disconnect the cross over cable, now see which battery goes dead, I doubt it will be both,that will eliminate some systems.

Haven't looked up the spec for a few years, but last time I did, it was .030 amps after everything had timed out, so pretty close to what you had in mind. Incidentally, Ford's spec is .050 amps, so I can't see how that much of a draw could be too big a problem on a Dodge. Sounds strange you'd be having problems after only 3 days on a 70mA draw, on a vehicle with two batteries as well. Maybe one of your batteries is getting a flaky cell that's not showing up under normal testing.
