Well... add me to the ball joint club! 35k miles! I'm not sure yet how many they replaced. I'll find out this afternoon when I pick it up.

Those parking garages are low! I've been in the city garage on North Gate.. but none on campus. Dont think I'll try it!

That gauge pod sounds really sweet! Cant wait to see how it turns out!!

my issues still aren't solved completely. truck rides and drives fine at lower speeds...sometimes to make the truck go straight i have to hold the wheel at an angle and sometimes i don't....at higher speeds its a little un-easy. the bilstein shocks are going on my truck now...then i'm going to get a tire rotation and balance to see if that helps. after that i just don't know!

sry to hear aggie98. it doesn't make sense to me that stuff like that can go out on our trucks so soon. keep us posted on how many were replaced, etc.

Aggie98- Yeah don't try the garages. I've been in the central and north garages on campus....both are scary close and i got stuck in the north garage..couldn't make a corner...had to back up into that little arm that goes down behind you when you go in. PITA. I have a pass for west campus garage, we'll see how that goes.

Yeah... that west campus garage is new so it may be taller.. I havent tried it though...

Just drove the truck back from the dealer.. Replaced ALL FOUR ball joints at 35k miles! He said that a couple of them were not bad... but on their way and in a hurry. So, since I was close on my warranty, they replaced the ones going bad also.

It doesnt make sense to me why they go out so quickly!

man you got lucky at the 35k mile mark....and i bet your glad you have a dealer who replaced it right with all 4.

thats what i'm hoping for at west campus garage, we'll see in august i reckon.

do you offroad alot? i was told the ball joints in these trucks go pretty quick if its abused off road.

Sorry it's taken so long!

I off road probably about 6 times a year....

Last I went to the Brazos Valley Off Road Ranch (Old gravel pits off of Hwy 47).. That is some SERIOUS off roading. I was very impressed with the truck. I probably wont go back with this truck because I didnt buy the truck to do that kind of off roading.

It's really for a short wheel base like a Jeep... Actually.. it was me, a bunch of jeeps and one old chevy truck. Definitely earned our trucks some "street credit" or maybe it's "trail credit". Everyone would get out to watch the CTD Ram strut it's stuff. Wish I had some pics!

Any word on your front end issues?

shocks replaced and just kept driving, rotated the tires, etc. somehow it worked out. when the shocks were replaced, my mechanic and myself noticed choppy wear on the tires which is a sign of worn shocks. Since i've driven it a while with new shocks, its all worked out. I think my track bar is a little loose...i had my trackbar go out on my 97 half ton 4x4 dodge so i now know exactly what it is...but for now everything is going great.

raced a modded powerstroke yesterday....the finger he gave me at the end wasn't a thumbs up i looked down to see the EGT gauge at 1300* and left off...a couple of seconds later i looked at the speedo.....it was still at 105mph and very smooth.

OK, solved but truck doesn't drive firm at all...it wobbles side to side at the smallest of bumps....i had noticed this before but not as bad...i was stumped but kept driving.

OK...no pulling to the right just loose steering i guess is what you call it. tonight its pulling to the right again....

Have you checked for play in your steering gear box ouput shaft ?
Do a search for DSS ( Darin's Steering Stabilizer ) . This product
just might be the cure for your troubles.
