ball joints
I've heard some moanin' cuz there's no zerks ........
Then again, other than on the tie-rod ends of the 4x4's, there ain't no zerks to be found anymore.
Curious, whats driving the question? Or are we bored at work?

Interesting, are they all being replaced via warranty, or doityourself kind of work? How old/many miles were on the truck(s) when they went bad?
My truck is almost 2 years old with 29k on it and I haven't noticed anything yet.

You bone Heads
Think about to it? Two machined articulating surfaces that have no zerts. These surfaces are sealed for life with a rubber boot. DC say's no grease is required because you boneheads over/under/incorrect spec/etc...in the past statistical.... blah blah blah. HELLO MR MURPHY Calling. If you want to dry hump it ....ouch. Listen ! get a needle for you grease gun and fill the rubber boot till you can feel the air is displaced. That is if you like don't mind a little dirt under your nails newbies.

when my 03 2500 had 31500 miles it didn't pass the state inspection. both upper and lower balljoints on BOTH sides were very sloppy. dealer replaced them all under warranty, about a 600 dollar job.
OK, bone head here
Let's say I do use a needle to lube the ball joints and they still go bad. Could the dealer then refuse to warrenty them because I poked a small hole in the boot with a needle?
It makes sense to me to lube 'em but what about the bone head dealer?
