Back-up light switch
Back-up light switch
I hope that this is the right forum, since the switch is located on the tranny.
Here goes. Some time ago, my back-up lights quit working. For awhile, sometimes they would come on and sometimes, they would not. Then, they just decided to not come on at all. So, today is kinda warm and nice out, so I decide to check it out. I pulled the plug off the switch and using a test light, determine that I do have power on one side of the plug. I then make up a simple patch wire to connect the two prongs together. Yup, sure enough, the back-up lights are lit. Down to my local NAPA dealer and they don't carry that switch. I check out dodgeparts.com and they show two switches, both of which cover my year of truck, but one of them is about $5 and the other is about $48, but there is no description or part number for either one of them.
I am going to assume that since this is a diesel and it is a manual transmission, the one I need is the higher priced one. I looked through the manual I have, but could not find anything about the switch. Does anyone have a part number that I can use to try and find this part?
Thanks for any help,
DMH

Well, I should have done this first, but I finally did a search on it and I found the part number. It is 56007270. Using the search feature at napaonline, I was able to find their part number for it and it is ECH NS6520. I am not sure why, but it does not show up on their switches list for our trucks. Their price is $57.49 and I found it at makeitmopar.com for $45.83.
