Any write-ups on changing '03 fuel filters?
Re:Any write-ups on changing '03 fuel filters?
Oh Hoss, a little bit doesn't even begin to describe it. They are probably drinking clara pacificas in the back of my truck right now outside the factory. "railcar shortage" :
After seeing people order sept 9th and their trucks are shipped, and I ordered mine 8/20 and it's still at the factory, I'm a little frustrated
I figure I might as well learn all about the maintenance etc now.(read=obsessing about the truck in anxiety)

Surprisingly, the rep at DC called again this morning with an update. Apparently the cerveza ran out yesterday, and they put it on a rail car ;D
It's my pot and I'll stir it if I want to. If you're not careful, I'll stir your's as well!

I have a '93 Dodge Diesel and have used a vacuum gauge for indication when to change the fuel filter. When the filter is new the vacuum reads 4.5 in/h20. I would change the filter when the reading would hold a steady 10 in/h20 at 70 MPH.
I have gotten up to 32,000 miles before changing and that particular time the reading was only 9 in/h20, but was going to New Mexico which is over a thousand miles and didn't want to have troubles on the trip.
I just bought a '02 Dodge Diesel with only 8000 miles on it. I noticed the filter body had a plastic top and would like to know if there is a metal one that a person could replace it with. My buddy has a '99 DD and it has a metal top but we haven't had time to check it out and he's now on a trip for a couple of weeks.
I have never seen a diesel fuel filter as dark all over as the one that is displayed in the forum. I've cut open a couple of my older filters and they were dirty but wasn't all that black.
Appreciate your comments.
