I agree 100%.

Billy based on your avatar picture I am sure you drop plenty of soot chutes on the old paint job. Considering the over fueled black spew you can't say with a straight face a little 2 stroke would make your stacks any dirtier.

Ive been running the Supertech 2cycle TCW3 since ULSD hit the pumps. Most of our customers have been running it also.(Non Common Rail)
Sorry, no mysterious gooey gunk or carbon build up going on here.
If you run the 1/2-1oz per gallon as suggested, it is NOT going to hurt anything, quite the opposite actually, lift pumps that weren't lasting 6 months have all of a sudden stopped failing. (Carters from Cummins)
I just had my 4'' exhaust off to remove the way too quiet muffler, nice and clean inside from the turbo back.
If anyone wants to send me a head gasket, I will gladly pull my head and have digital pictures taken of the inside of the head and cylinders to disprove this gooey gummy carbon slime theory.
Seriously, 1oz per gallon, do any of you nay sayers have any clue how small an amount that is? I highly doubt you could tell the difference in the color between a treated gallon vs an untreated gallon.

This is all very interesting information...thanks for sharing your experiences. I think I'll run it for this oil change & compare my oil anaylsys. I've got 6000 miles to go & i'll post my findings here.

Has anyone else been into an engine that has been running the TCW-3 oil?

It may but I don't plan on using 2-stroke oil. I have been using Power Service sence having to use ULSD with good results so far and it puts my EGTs back where it was when I was running LSD.

Benn using 2 stroke since July of 2007. Ran Power Service, Shaffer or whatever else I could find before July 07.

16oz/tank or 1/2oz/gal. Truck has 200,250 miles on it today. Original VP.

You don't need an additive. Yours is a common rail.
And that power service stuff you are using is more a solvent, than a lubricant. The common rail systems don't require any additives, unless fuel gelling or algae is a problem.

I hope you're right about not needing it but the truck just runs better with Power service added. I get a bit lower EGTs and better fuel economy. Enough to justify the added expence.

I've been using the .64 oz per gallon of TCW-3 method for about 50-60k miles. I also run a bottle of PS diesel kleen about every 5th tank to clean up the fuel system. I have been pleased with the results and like the idea of the added lube from the 2-stroke.

I can't agree with you on this. The CP3 is very sensitive on these common rails, and with the ultra low sulfur content of 15ppm as compared to the original 1500ppm of LSD some form of extra lubrication IMO is very necessary to keep all the internal seals from drying out. The FCA on these Cp-3s are also known to stick; I would think 2 stroke oils lubricity would help this out substantially.

So you guys who do use it how do you measure how much you put into the tank ? Do you have a little 1 oz cup or something ? I usually just dump about a third of a quart in.
