Well I just got back from the dealer after having my front pinion seal replaced again. The first one went out at 71K and this one just went at 84K, just 13K after the last repair. Took it to the dealer thinking it would be covered since the repair is only 7 months old and NOPE! I was over the 12K mark on the repair. Dealer blamed it on the leveling kit I called BS but didn't matter.

Has anyone else had problems with their front pinion seals?

 

Yep...twice in the front, and three times in the rear. I don't even worry about it leaking anymore, unless it become a drip on the driveway.

 

yep I had the same thing on my 04 and I had it fixed at local place and they are supposed to do good work.I lost one of the transfer case seals and now it is going again after I had it fixed.The pinion seal on front axle leaked a second time then I took it the dealer and so far I am good but I think that the 3rd gens just suck for seals.I always wondered if there is someone out there that makes some awesome seals for these probs we have with our 3rd gens

 

I changed mine at 63000 miles. I also had to do the yoke. It was pretty worn. I am at 70000 now and not a drop out of it.
