Another Front Hub, but not all bad news
Another Front Hub, but not all bad news
I replaced the factory hubs at 89K and 102K miles respectively. Now with 43K miles on the second new hub, it failed.
However, NAPA is giving me full credit for the $129 one I bought toward their NAPA branded $299 one. (It pays to keep a log of repair dates and part numbers).
Also on the bright side, it only took me 45 minutes to remove that hub. A liberal dose of anti-seize when I put it together last time and a light tap with a hammer this time and it fell right off
Continuing word to the wise: If you get an unexpected and intermittent ABS light, check your hubs. When the hub starts to fail, the tone ring rubs on the ABS sensor, and/or the failing bearing filings get picked up by that magnetic sensor and make the ABS light shine.
If you wait too long, the hub will fail and LOCK UP THE WHEEL. At least that's what happened to my first hub while pulling the boat out of the lake (at low speed, fortunately).

I agree on Napa hubs, they are bad, even if made by SKF.
I replaced my right front with a Napa, it lasted 5,000 miles, then it fell apart. It happened on the road, so when I brought the receipt to my local Napa in Faribault to get a refund for the failed one, they said they cannot give me the money I paid for since not prices dropped considerably.
Needless to say I will never use that store again, the next town gave me a credit for the whole amount.
The OEM are just few buck more than Napa, better stay with Mopar.

Is it worth the money, time, or effort to stay with the Mopar front hubs or to just move to a free spin kit? It looks like i might be replacing a hub in the near future just trying to see which way would be the best.
Thanks
