Air intake and check engine light
Air intake and check engine light
I made a replacement turbo intake tube and installed last night. Now the check engine light is staying on. There is a sensor on the airbox that I think is an intake air temp sensor. The connector is plugged in the sensor on the airbox. Oh, it is the stock airbox and filter.
Any suggestions or ideas?

The sensor on the airbox is a combination ambient air temperature and ambient air pressure sensor. Its what the ECM uses to calculate your altitude and starting temperature. If the ECM cannot determine the altitude it automatically assumes you are at 5000+ feet and activates the check engine light. If you had your key on at all when the sensor was unplugged, the check engine light will come on. The good part is that the light will go off after a certain "debounce time", drive cycle, or multiple starts.
Cycle your key 3 times and record the "P-Codes" that are displayed. If you see:
P0107, P0108, P0072, or P0073, then its the sensor on the airbox.
Hope this helps.
