After battery change my tach on my '06 is working.

Suddenly my tach is working.... I threw two codes for P2609, cleared them and the tach is working.

Has anyone tried disconnecting the batteries to fix the tach? Is that maybe a fix?

Mine started to act "wacky" after I replaced my batteries. About 10% of the time it wouldn't read true, or not at all. But for about the last 3-4 months, it's been working fine. When it wasn't working right, usually after driving a few miles or driving 5-10 min., it would start working again. Now watch it start acting up again since I posted this!

Same here! My tach would act a little funny at idle only. It would sit around 300 to 500. After replacing my batteries it works normal again Every now and then it drops to 500 but works perfect about 99% of the time.

That tach - like everything else - is run by the ECU. When the batteries are dying, the ECU starts to do wacky things, and a lot of the gauges and indicaters do wierd things.

Once you replace both batteries and reset the trouble codes, everything should be working correctly.

"Suddenly my tach is working...." That's a good thing.

Eh,
My tach is back to its old self.... Reading about 200 at idle and pegging 3900 under throttle.

Mine was flipped and pinned for a couple weeks, then it works again, then its pinned. It hasn't read right at idle for 2 years. Is there a fix for it?
