ABS/Brake Light and Squeek from rear
What could these have in common? Noticed a squeeking from the rear of the truck. Sounded similar to when I had my driveshaft u-joints go out but it seems like it is related to wheel rotation speed. Also if I tap the brakes it goes away. My first thoughts were that the slider pins on the brakes were sticking (again) causing one of the pads to keep riding on the rotor making the sounds.
Then the other day I got a chime and my brake/abs light came on and stayed on. Wondering if these two things could be related and indicate something more like rear wheel bearing going bad? I haven't heard much about rear axle bearings (compared to the front hubs) but I guess it possible.
Any ideas before I tear into it?
Thanks Ryan
