600 Injection Operation

THE 600 HAS AN INJECTION BEFORE TDC AT TDC AND AFTER TDC TO CUT EMISSIONS AND NOISE BUT IT SEEMS IF IT COULD BE REPROGRAMED TO INJECT ONLY DURING TDC, MILAGE WOULD BE BOOSTED BY NOT WASTING FUEL TO QUIETEN THE ENGINE WHICH WOULD ALSO GIVE A LITTLE KNOCK.

Yes. It could be. A couple folks I work with have had cummins engineers give that demo. Pilot on, pilot off.

The challenge is reprogramming the Cummins engine controller. Or having a box that does that.

Oh, and FWIW, the 555 had two events.

events

I was talking to one of the Cummins factory instructors about my 600, and we got to talking about the fueling events , he told me that all the common rail engine have always had the three event and that they had just recently learn about it , they had always thought it was a 2 event injection.

3 events

also that 3 event only stays that way anywhere from idle to 1500 rpm . then it is a single event at higher rpm
