You are making sure to put it into neutral first, right?

Not required to put it in neutral as he has an auto..

Best engagement is during very low speed roll 2 to 4 mph. Select 4 low while stopped and let off the brake to just begin rolling.

correct but, even so... I tried everything. Neutral, reverse, rolling forward, rolling backwards... the light just flashes. 4hi has no problems

Hey Triton,

Sounds like the same thing that happened with my '06. I was still under the 3/36k at the time, so I just let them fix it. They weren't real detailed on explaining what the problem was, but they had to replace the whole transfer case, so I assumed it was a mechanical failure/defect rather than just electronic.

My 4 wheel drive wouldn't work when I first bought my mega cab. First they told me it was the switch in the dash. That didn't fix it, then it was the motor on the side of the TC. That didn't fix it. Then they replaced the wiring harness. Still no go.....They ended up replacing the TIPM and now it works fine

My local dealer just laughs if they see me pulling in I have others I can go to but, it would be nice to go the 10m to the local place instead of 150m !

I'm thinking it's electrical since 4 hi works. Apparently it's not a big issue with trucks since only a few of you posted.

Thanks for the input... guess I'll have to get it on a D/C scanner

Trust me, I was ready to drive the truck up the dealers rear end by the time they finally figured it out.
