48RE shifting and Torque Converter Issues

Hello - need some help if anyone else knows about this.
I have another 48RE issue with my 2004.5 Ram.
it won't shift out of 2nd gear until you let off the throttle, and now the Torque Converter feels so tight, almost like the lockup is trying to engage, that there is almost no stall.
it happened pulling onto the highway, I wasn't paying attention to the RPM and was into the throttle when I noticed that it bounced off the limiter and I felt a thud. After that, it felt like it was locked up. Also it now still won't shift into 3rd gear until I let off the throttle. From a standstill the truck wants to pull hard and is struggling to keep from stalling when in drive. it shifts from 1st to 2nd, to 3rd, to 4th really early under light throttle. Heavy throttle it also shifts fast except out of 2nd.. the TC feels like it is jacked up.
I checked the oil and it doesn't look or smell burnt.

About 30K miles ago (which was also about 7 years ago) I had the trans rebuilt with a shift kit and stronger internals. last year I installed the ATS pressure block solenoid and upgraded transducer to stop low speed shutter.
have the Edge Evolution CTS3 - no other mods.

Thanks in advance.
