Thanks for the link. But still his problem was constant. I would not hesitate to change it if the truck newer worked, but now its only when warm and after Ive provoking it by idleing it. I think a solenoid is either good or bad. Theres gotta be something else that happening..

Hey Fastech,

Unfortunately, I was unable to find any way to check the TTVA when I was having troubles.

Apparently it's just a slide on piece that took the place of a TV cable. The plastic gears inside wear down over time. Only way to check it is to pull it out and replace it.

If you were crafty, you might be able to find a way to open it up. Looks pretty well sealed from what I recall, though.

Here's some pictures of it opened I found around the forums:

It's an expensive little bugger, though. If you can't readily get ahold of one to swap out as a test; then you might exhaust your other options first.

Story continues,

Took down the pan just out of curiosity, everything looks good, ATF looks new. No metal or debris. Solenoid look good! Changes the filter while I was at it but with no difference.

It only seems to happen when ATF is warm and I have been in P idling for a minute or two.

OR

When ATF is warm and a shortly go into reverse and back to D..

If I just bump her to 2400rpm she shifts and then its gone again until i repeat the above things..

When you replace the Governor Solenoid you should also replace the Transducer! Try replacing the Transducer!

It's the ECM. I've had the same issue. After i changed everything you can change in the tranny I still had the shiftting problem. In the end I found the ECM to have a lot of corrosion inside.

Does this have a Goerand valve body? If so I'd send them a note. It definitely sounds like a pressure issue to me.

I have the same issue with my 03, transducer and solonoid both changed. I can duplicate the problem by going into reverse then drive a few times in a row, as if i was getting out of a parking spot.

Won't upshift till 2500 rpm.

I can get it back to normal by just turning engine off then on, either at a stop or while driving.

This has been a long term problem.

Sorry, didn't take any. But all kind of electronic parts were badly corroded inside due to faulty sealant job from factory. I bought the truck brand new so that was the original ECM. I found a gap in the clear seal on one of the corners.
