For those states which do not require vehicle to meet this standard the converter is replaced by an exhaust resonator.[/quote]

Hmmmm.... So, does this mean the non-CA auto truck comes with a resonator, whereas the 5/6-speeds do not? [eyecrazy]

Best to y'all
Bill :)

Holy cow Luke this will be, what, diesel number 17? You must go through 3 or 4 per year. Hope this one does the trick for you.

Re:48RE orderable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm on diesel #23...I guess it would be 25 if I count the two that Rod had/has.
Never sold one with less then 170,000 miles either. Most had 250,000. The 90' had 430,000 miles on it in less then 30 months! :o Last I heard the fella that bought it had over 700,000 on it and that was back in 97'. Least miles was the 97' auto...30,000...liked the manual. Then the 98.5 24V that gave me all the grief with the failed VP-44's etc etc etc. It was sold with 50K on it. I'm over 50K on the 01' and it by far has been the best built and best running of them all now. Not sure if I will keep it for much more then another year or two. I hear theres a REAL crew cab coming...I'll look at that with the 48RE in a 4x4 HO. Some very good and informative stuff on this thread. ;) |
Re:48RE orderable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well being in the business I am able to get a new truck about every 3-4 months. I expect it will take awhile to get my new HO/48re so I'll probably have the one I have now for another month or 2. I've only had it a month or so now. [eyecrazy]

Re:48RE orderable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just got off the phone with my dealer and ordered MINE :).
3500 QC SLT DRW with HO and 48RE Automatic Transmission with 4.10 rear axle. Color White Thanks for the heads up Luke............ :) :) :) :) |
Re:48RE orderable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, wasting no time Ken. I momentarily thought of cancelling my order and placing a new one with the ETH/48RE, but then I gave my head a shake. I almost bought the Hemi in the first place because I know it's all I really need. Then I figured I wanted to be a member of the diesel family and got the S/O auto and I know that is overkill for a 7000lb trailer. 460 lbft of torque and more hp than last year's H/O will do just fine. I don't sound like I'm trying to convince myself of something do I? ???

Re:48RE orderable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You can also order the 48RE with the SO. I believe the cost is $120.00 extra. Maybe Luke can confirm that.
I have been looking, figuring and waiting for a long time. As you can see from the above post that I was aware of the information on the new transmission. When Luke said it was there, I called my dealer who I talked to yesterday and placed my order. His statement yesterday was he did not think it would be released this year. He was surprised this morning when I called and there it was. The dealer also stated he was going to order five more for the dealership. |
Re:48RE orderable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That sounds almost just like my truck. Here is what I ordered:

-3500 quad cab,4x4, Slt
-HO, 48re
-side airbags
-anti-spin
-4.10's
-bed liner
-keyless entry
-fog lights
-protection group
-leather wrap steering wheel
-power pedals
-trailer tow
-deluxe toupe cloth
-bright white exterior(like silver but wanted a change)

I think thats everything, I think. MSRP was $40,945
Re:48RE orderable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Luke, I see you got the side air bags; I've noticed hardly anyone gets that option.
|
Re:48RE orderable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very few people order them. I like them, I've seen the crash tests and reports and since my wife often drives this truck I got em. My other 03 that is for sale has em.
|
Re:48RE orderable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I got them too, Luke. The last place I'm gonna scrimp is on safety for my family. My dealer said they don't bring in any nor have they had any other than mine ordered with side bags. I guess we're a little off topic. As for the H/O 48RE, you convinced me in another thread that the S/O 47RE will be a fine set up for my needs and I have not read or heard anything to make me think otherwise.
|
Re:48RE orderable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Including mine I'd have 3 through the door with side airbags. Your right about the SO being enough for you, I pulled a little over 20k with mine last week. :o 8)

Re:48RE orderable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am glad to see the 48RE are now orderable, this puts our dodges on par with fords and GM's (Auto wise)!

KC
