3rd Gen Smoke
3rd Gen Smoke
My buddy has a 04.5 Bone stock, it has never smoked once in it's life, but yesterday he got on it pretty good and it layed out some smoke and today pulling a trailer up hill at 70 in torque converter lock up it was smoking. It has 45,000 miles on it. I'm thinking an inner cooler boot might be loose or off and cracked? Any other ideas?
If he was going around 45-50 and laying into the throttle, then he was probably just lugging it...
Check your filter minder, see if it is pulled down, check the air filter element.
If you are worried about a boot, you can take weak masking tape and tape around the boots, take it for a spin, then check it over. If the tape is broken/split, you may have a leak there.

Mine will blow some black if it has been driven around town or just taken easy, pulling a hill towing will be a bit of black and then clean out, as long as it isnt blowing lots of smoke all the time, then I would check the air cleaner, first, if its dirty then not enough air and lots of fuel, like he said simple things first.
