First, it is a solid truck. That was the last year of the 5.9's and is a popular find.
That said, it is a 9 (or 10 depending on build date) year old truck now.
The tranny for this year is better than Ford, but not an Allison for sure--- at least from the factory. However, they can be built nearly bullet proof.
All of the big 3 diesels have their own little quirks and drawbacks. But the 5.9 Cummins is the best engine of the lot.
Do a little surfing in this forum to find some of the issues particular to this year build and the 3rd Gens in general
Good luck!

That would have the 48re transmission. I'm not an auto guy, but I understand it is fairly reliable at stock power if taken care of. Main drawback IMHO is it is only 4 speed.
Various mode and blend doors can break in the hvac case, so make sure everything works there.
Long crank times to start can indicate injectors going bad. Other than that, ball joints and the typical stuff to look at on any used truck.

I like my 07
210K on the truck since I bought new, occasional tow, pretty much city/hwy driving. Get use to the black oil, has something to do with the EGR. Onnly complaint is the driver seat. Wears out pretty fast. Ive replaced the buns and covers twice.
At 17K I switched to 15/40 AMS Oil, Oil changed every 10K, tranny gets serviced every 35K.
At 100K replaced front U joints and ball joints, AC compressor went out at 195K
Keep up the maintenance and you wont have problems with the drive train
