Well, My 06 2500 4x4 been treating me well. Zero complaints. 37,000 miles. I've been changing oil every 6000 miles, Fuel filter every 15000 miles. I'm not hauling anything with it. I load the bed with a small Outfitter caribou pop-up camper now and then. It's mostly off. I do a little off road drive driving. mostly fire roads, up and down western canyons. It spends most of its time on the Highway.
What I want to know is when should I do the fluid change in the differential and Transfer case, also the transmission fluid for that matter. I've been going by the schedule B , or is it A. Anyway, the light usage one since I'm not hauling much or pulling anything. most of the time except when I do 1000 mile trips with the camper. My camper is maybe 1000 lbs. dry. I'm also getting 21 mpg with it on the long haul/with camper, that's at 63 to 65 mph. 17 to 18 mpg around town.

At that mileage, I would drain the front and rear diff fluid and pour in some Amsoil.

 

Off hand, would you know how much the front an rear hold? Also the best online dealer for it. Also the weight I should get? which one? etc..

You can go by schedule A, but that's the bare minimum. Listed is my maintenance schedule.

Oil change every 5k miles, towing or not.

Rotate tires every 5k.

Fuel filter every 10k miles (every other oil change).

Based on what many members have posted about the fluid in the axles, it should be changed by the 15k mark with some good Gl-5 synthetic (I have Amsoil Severe Gear 75w-90). Rear-4 quarts, front-3 quarts. Gasket is reuseable. After that, every 50k miles is sufficient.

Transfer case every 30k miles with ATF+4. 2.5 quarts.

Automatic Transmission every 30k miles with ATF+4. 7 quarts on a drain and refill (recommended). New filter needed. Gasket is reuseable.

 

If you use Amsoil Severe Gear 75/90 it should last at least 50,000 miles. When I pulled my covers off and let it drain for a while I put back in I used all most 7.5 qt's for both diff's. For the transfer case and trans I use Amsoil ATF. Amsoil ATF is a full 100% synthetic fluid and Mopar brand ATF is not 100% synthetic.

For the fuel filter make sure you use and install a 7 micron or smaller filter as requested from Cummins back in June of 2006. There are many places that sell the 10 Micron filters so if you ask and they can't tell you what micron size is or say its 10 micron then don't use it unless you in a bind and need one at that moment. As for oil changes unless your using cheap Wally World oil, good oil should last 7500 miles if not longer. Oh and don't go cheap on the oil filters, buy a Fleetguard Stratapore, Dodge, AC Delco, Motorcraft, Pureolater Pure One, Wix, Napa or equal filter. Stay away from Fram filters as there filters don't hold up well in a diesel engine and have screwed up several engines in the past to where Dodge put out a TSB about using Fram filters.
