2006 2500 Fuel System Service
2006 2500 Fuel System Service
With 95,000 miles on the beast, I've changed the fuel filter myself about 6 times. A 5 minute job at most. Today, I went to Orange Coast Dodge in Costa Mesa, CA to have my oil changed and asked to have the fuel filter changed too. The service writer asked if I'd like to have the Water Separator Serviced. I said sure. The cost for servicing the water separator and the filter was $223.12. I'm all for paying for needed service, but I don't see water separator service as normal maintenance after briefly scanning through this site. So - What is Water Separator Service and is it necessary? Thank you.

I think you got bamboozled..... It's a matter of opening the top, change the filter, open the drain valve if you see water in the bottom, close the drain valve, new filter in, screw on the cover. 10 minutes, 20 bucks for the filter.
