2005 ctd flooded
i found a truck had been in the katrina flood and what problems could there be to get it to start.would it need a new computer if it got wet
I would be more worried about crap/dirt/junk that got in through the intake/exhaust into the cylinders.
There could be water in the crankcase, and combustion chambers. And just going to crank it over could window the block real fast. |
I don't know if you actually seen this truck in person, But these vechicles have been flooded with a combination of salt and fresh water (brekish I believe its called ) I'm sure the motor is good but I've seen some of these vehicles and that type of water plays major havoc on the electrical components. Not to mention that most of these were flooded over the top. Some of the aluminum peices I seen look like they were left outside for years.Even if you get it running now, your future with such a vechicle can't be good. Just my .02 Good Luck

if i could get it cheap i was going to make it a play truck. current bid is $700
Hell its worth that in just body panels and bed!
I'd run from that truck! Any saltwater and the body panels won't last long and all the wiring! [eyecrazy]
The tires alone are worth that much!!
its up to a grand now. im going to check in the morning and see how much it is. i wont go over 3k. id just buy it to play with, its got some pretty big dent in it. i thank it was brand new.
