Can I change my vote ?

I voted on this about a week ago, at about 73,000 miles was still on origonal pump.
Wouldn't you know it, over the weekend Long Crank / Hard Start.
Figured Filter or Lift Pump, did not have a filter (reminder to self place Geno's order) so I took it to the Dealer, diagnosed as low pressure bad lift pump @ 73,900 miles.
The in tank is covered under warranty so I told them to put it on.
If that one goes it will be an aftermarket replacement from GDP.

Stock at 52k. If it makes it to 100k I'll change it then as it will be out of warranty and don't want to loose the other pump if it goes. BTW, are aftermarket pumps better and last longer than factory for a stock truck?

I have an 04.5 with 52K and the LP went about a week ago. I change my fuel filter every 10K to 15K.
The bad news, It left the wife on the side of the fwy.
The good news, DC covered the towing (within an hour) to the dealer and the dealer did the in tank swap kit and didn't try to get the $100 deductible (not required) that others have been told they must pay.
I was very happy.

Now for more bad news. When I filled the truck up after the fix, I found a fuel leak around the sending unit on the top of the tank. So it's going back.
Dealer was really good about the original fix and got my truck back the same day (maybe they should take more time?)
I'm hoping for better results this time around. We will see?

PS. For what it's worth, I had run PS/MMO pretty much every tank until about a couple of months ago when I stopped the MMO. I've been thinking about trying the two stroke oil? Not saying this had anything to do with anything good or bad? Just FYI.
I guess I should follow up on this,
I took the truck back when the tank was near empty. An couple of hours later I was told it checks out fine and they can not find any leaks. Yeah Right! I suspect that the threaded ring that secures the sending unit was cross threaded? it felt tight but was leaking quite a bit when the tank was topped off. Any way it's fixed even if the mechanic wouldn't fess up. I talked the service manager into giving me some parts at cost so I bought my SRT piller some seat covers and a couple of trans and air filters. I have since installed my fuel pressure gauge (a little late) and I'm getting 9-10 psi at idle and have not seen it drop below 6-7 psi wide open. I haven't towed yet so I guess I will see?

91,000 and going strong. No engine mods at all. What can I expect when it fails?

1. If it is under warranty expect TERRIBLE DC SERVICE

2. The truck will just die, no warning signs of anything going wrong.

3. I got it to fire up 3 more times for no longer than 4 seconds per startup

replaced...........

Well, mine has been making noises for months. just every now and then, when i would key it up, it sounded just like a town car air spring compressor. it took maybe a second longer to start when this noisewould happen. Turns out, this is covered under the cummins 100k warranty the new pum p goes in the tank, BUT, checking pressure will be alittle tough. this is a volume pump, not a pressure pump. three psi at best.
I went to 74265 miles before it came off the filter housing...............

Also had a class the other night on fords and the importance of using stock, motorcraft parts. I had NO idea about the patents on all the parts! we spent 4 hours just on filters..........

Got my truck with 24,799 on the odo.

COMPLETELY stock and at 119K it's going strong. I recently started a 2 stroke regimen to KEEP it running strong!
