120k

Just put on a Glacier Walbro setup yesterday because my guage dropped to 2#, then 0#, then 7#, then 0#, then 2#, etc.... I had been planning to put the Glacier on for quite awhile, just waiting for signs/symptoms of failure on the original LP.

With the Glacier, I have 0# on the guage. I'll be troubleshooting that today. Cummins runs great, must be an issue with the guage tubing, isolator or guage.

Oh, and while I was at it, I installed the tank vent kit.

Zero pressure at WOT is one sign. Zero pressure at idle is a bit late. That is if you monitor your pressure (which you should).

If you don't monitor your pressure, when your LP fails it usually takes out your Injection Pump also. That way, you get to replace both pumps at the same time. (>$2,000)

My father has an 03, it quite at 40,xxx miles, dealer took care of it.

The truck in my sig has 81,xxx on it, no issues yet. I need to get a gauge ASAP so I can monitor it. GDP kit is comming realy quick.

49K on the odometer and the original LP is still going strong (reads 9-10psi on average). Maybe it's a testament to the PS/MMO blend...

120k on my lp. I'll be replacing it as soon as I can find a good deal on an aftermarket unit.

Mine is an 04.5, not an '03. mine went out at around 65K. My dealer said the lift pump was piggy backed to the high pressure pump on the engine and over heated because of placement. He said that just before the 2005's they changed to the in-tank style. (some 2004's have the in-tank style) They said the lift pump that cummins piggy backed to the engine is made my Bosch and is covered under the Cummins warranty

-the dealer changed mine to the in-tank style

Last edited by YFZ; 05-29-2007 at 12:03 PM. Reason: adding mine is now in-tank style

My 04.5 with the filter canister mounted pump never had a failure in 62,000 miles. But after adding the Smarty on 9 my fuel pressure would drop down close to zero at WOT.

So to increase pressure and hopefully never have a failure, I replaced it with the GDP Walbro 392 and added a 2 micron kit.
