i ended up going w/ the 2" hellbent steel kit. its a nice kit and made of heavy duty steel finished w/ black powdercoat. i also went w/ billstein 5100 shocks and BDS extended bumpstops to keep the stock coilsprings from compressing much more then they were designed to do.

there are also some nice billet aluminum kits available but they wont be as strong as a steel kit. this was a concern for me because i have a plow on the front of my truck. i would definately have an alignment done because the leveling kit will actually pull the axle to the drivers side about 3/8" and make the caster uneven. you can realign the caster but the axle will still be off center 3/8" unless you find a 2" track bar drop bracket or go w/ an adjustable track bar. the kit is working great for me so far.

I've not had any problems out of my 2" Leveling Kit from Top Gun Customz. A front end alignment is recommended afterwards.

I did go ahead and get the drop brackets as well to put the trackbar in the OEM position.

Mine's been on for about 7k miles. I hope this helps!!!

I have used the Revtek kit in my past 04 Hemi QC 4x4 and had great results also. I just bought one for my 06 mega cab and haven't put it in yet but an alignment is a must.

they also offer springs, but most aftermarket springs will end up sagging.

don thuren also offers a 2" steel leveling kit, but he sells it as a kit w/ his adjustable track bar. i was quoted $450. the only reason i didnt go this route was because the adjustable track bar uses a heim end and they eventually wear out and will need to be replaced. i didnt want to have to worry about replacing parts later so i went w/ the hellbent steel kit for $110. shipped to my door. i am still keeping an eye out for a 2" trackbar drop bracket as the only bracket i found close is the bds 3" bracket and that would only offset the axle in the opposit direction as well as lose alot of angle on the trackbar.

jmalone, what drop bracket are you using?

I have the revtek on mine, I dont have the drop bar, just did the alignment. Make sure that when you do the alignment that you tell the tech to advance the castor to that max approx 5*. This will prevent you from getting dw.

i helped the tech do the alignment on mine and if they tell you they can only go to 5 degrees its a lie. 4.9 is still in the green and 5.0 is in the red. you can go way more than 5 degrees but they arent going to because if it comes back on them they will get in trouble. i ended up setting mine at 5.0 because i didnt want to go too far out of spec, and it was tough to get both sides the same so we called it a day when they both lined up at 5.0. at one point they were both way past 5.0 degrees though.
my toe was also off a good bit, we set that to stock spec both sides.

Typo... I meant drop BLOCKS. Sorry about that. I'm using the Lorenz Industries drop blocks.

jmalone, those are for the sway bar liks, not he trackbar correct?

jprram, i didnt use either. im still looking for a 2" drop bracket, but i doubt anyone will offer one because theres not enough room under the stock location to really fit a bracket w/ only drop 2". you would really have to go w/ the 3" bracket.

by not addressing the problem my axle is pulled toward the drivers side 3/8". im not too worried about it at this point as the truck rides fine and you dont notice the axle being off center. the only way i know it is, is because i measured while installing the kit.

On some trucks you can go past 5*, but not on all. Mine for example needed a little persuasion to get to 5.1*. My buddy who is the alignment tech said that some trucks will go up to 5.3 5.4 no problems, but he also said that after 5 there isnt much difference.

2" Leveling Kit

I found a lot of good info on my search that led me to this thread. One question,... will the 2" leveling kit raise the roof height of the truck 2". I have a garage clearance problem and need to know. Tks.
