15K mile service
I like to do all my service on my truck myself. I am getting ready to do my 15K mile service. These are my plans, should I be doing anything else?
1. Inspection truck (brakes, belts, exhaust, etc.) 2. Clean Air filter (Scotty 5) 3. New oil and oil filter 15w-40 Rotella, strata-pour filter 4. Change fuel filter 5. Change transfer case fluid - 4+/- Quarts ATF+4 6. Change front and rear diff. fluids (75W-90), going to remove diff. and re-use seals, clean insides of housings, re torque bolts to 30 ft. lbs. 7. Grease front drive line joint. 8. Rotate tires Should I be adding anything to the list that I might not be thinking about? What about changing the fluid in the manual trans.? I have heard it is not neccessary, unless desired to to difficult shifting. Any input would be greatly appreciated! Just want to make sure that I have everything covered in one evening. [duhhh] |
do the manual transmission if you have the nv5600 and use a good synthetic mtf fluid like amsoil or redline.

Do a search on the torque spec. There was a thread that said 30 was too high. It was a mis-print in the book. It's suppossed to be between 18-22,,,can't remember.

I would add one: grease the tie rod ends. +1 on the tranny.
