1 piece drive line???!!
So I've been watching this thread with great interest, I have the dreaded Launch shudder for like the last 25,000 miles.
Replaced all the U-joints which helped some but still evident, especially loaded heavy.
If I'm reading this thread right I should be able to do a direct swap for a one piece on my '06 Mega with a G56?
Do I have to change the Transfer Case seal?
Does the shaft come with the Yoke, and U-joints and everything I need?

Yes I did and still have a vibration between ruffly 60 to 65 mph, but only when in OD. Both my 06 and 07 do the same thing. I'll get it figured out one day. Yes the drive shaft comes with everything to bolt right in. My truck is an auto so can't comment on if it fits a stick shift. No I didn't change any seals (haven't had any trans fluid leaks or any fluid when I pulled old shaft) All in all I think it was a good upgrade, one less u-joint and no carrier bearing to deal with, just my 2cents.
Ok, now I was looking online and was wondering what one to order the 52123220ab or the 52123161ab and the 161ab is $303 and the 220ab is $435. I wonder if they are the same? What to do?
How about on a short bed?
I have been reading through this thread, and I have a similar problem as first described, a "shudder" on takeoff. I have an early 07. I have installed the Carli starter system (leveling kit) and also a SB 3250DD clutch. However, unlike most people talking on this thread, I have a quad cab short bed. I looked under my truck, and I have a one piece driveshaft already. Anyone I have any ideas as to the source of my shudder?
Now this is an interesting twist on things, just a thought but could there be to much angle between trans output and pinion mount being that its a short bed, putting a little bind on ujoints?????
It looks like the 52123161ab is for the 48RE transmission (DG8) while the 52123220ab is for the 68RE transmission (DG7).
Very true, a few have used the one for the 68re and seem to be having good luck with them, but what could be so much different to justify $100.00 plus in price difference from the 48re one?
Thats where I am at with this whole thing. I just want do get the best one(heaviest duty) but don't want to spend 130 more for the same thing. Wish I could see them side by side. Also did the 2007's come with a one piece from the factory with the 5.9 and the 48re? Also did the one piece cure anyones vibration at highway speeds?
