I installed the 1 piece in place of my two piece, must have saved 50 lbs!! There is a little less slop in the drivetrain now...runs smooth and fit perfect

The aluminum tube is huge!!! Where it necks up it must be 6" in diameter!

So are most people runnig with the damper or not?

I am looking at PN's:

52123161AA 1 8 42, 81 DG8 Has Yoke With Damper
52123161AB 1 8 42, 81 DG8 Has Yoke Without Damper

52123220AA 1 8 42, 81 DG7 Has Yoke With Damper
52123220AB 1 8 42, 81 DG7 Has Yoke Without Damper

(Truck in Sig)

I am having a little trouble reading that part list and figuring out which one I need...

Got my One Pice today! So I took out my 2 piece then took out the mounting plate for the hanger, then put a new seal in the t-case for the new shaft, so then I slid the yoke in to T-case fit awsome, then went to go install on to rear end and the shaft is to long. It is to long I figure by like two inches. I guess that is better than to short. So next week I will have to take it to get shortened. This seams weird cuz I thought some people put this in and it was a perfect fit. I do have an early 04 so I am thinking that the distance from rear end to tail shaft on the T-case is Diff. I have a 4 inch lift to and the 1 pice is still to long. Oh well of to the drive shaft place to get it shortened.

That's a bummer that it didn't fit, wonder if it is cause of the year?
Still in the process of trying to find a dealer that has the one I want,
hopefully when I do find it, it will fit if not my wife is going to kill me
( she told to leave it alone if its not broke why mess with it )
We shall see.

Thank You ALL!!!

I had this issue since new, complained and the dealer did some shimming, etc. you guys and girls know exactly what I'm talking about. Anyways i check in here about 6 weeks ago, and forward off the forum to my dealer general manager. He followed up with his local rep who made sure we did all the other stuff, and long story short, had my new driveshaft installed yesterday morning under warranty. Truck drives awesome. Im still in love...

You lost me on this one. The front leveling kit should not, in any way, change the relationship between the transfer case and the rear axle should it?

Is this eliminating the vibration that occurs on some of the Mega Cab and long wheel base Quad Cabs at highway speeds? My '06 Mega Cab has a six inch Superlift and has had a vibration between 65 - 75 since the lift was put on at 4K miles. My carrier barring is shimmed with the supplied Superlift bracket.

Finally got my one piece today, unpacked it and just like everyone says these things are massive. Measured new shaft then measured old shaft, exactly the same. Will report back after install this weekend with results.

you bet!

Megadunner, I was chasing this problem since the first day i got the truck. Service manager at my dealership did everything they could to try to eliminate the problem. Two years and 100k later- i presented him with a solution. He sends it off to his DC rep, and one hour later the part is on order.

I'm having the same problem. Mine is an auto 06. From what I have seen people are using the 52123220ab, but it looks like I should be using a 52123161ab. Any help would be appreciated.
