When I am driving on light throttle from a complete stop. As in less than 20% or so. When the truck goes to shift from 1st to 2nd, it surges real hard a couple, sometimes three times before finally shifting into second.
It's weird, almost like it's pushing into and out of 1st a few times before shifting up. I don't know how else to explain it. I can control it somewhat by applying more throttle but it really concerns me.
Anyone else experienced that before and if so did you figure out what causes it?


It seems more noticable when the truck is warm, but that could be my mind playing tricks on me as well.

 

Common with these trucks. It's most likely the 2-3 shift hunting that you actually feel. Plenty of threads on this subject.

 

yep. 2 - 3 hunting for me under heavy throttle. tranny guy who done lots of work for me cannot fix it. dodge says it is normal. only occassionally under heavy throttle. oh well. merry xmas

Yes, mine started acting up around 30k had it fixed last week. Governor Pressure Solenoid TSB 21-009-07.

 

I had that TSB done on my 05 and after 2 months the stutter shift is back again,only running smarty on sw-3 and stomp the throttle every now and then. This gets very annoying... Dodge needs to find a fix for this problem. This is my only complaint with the truck other than the plastic intercooler...
