Question 06 powerloss after reflash

My brother has an 06 2500 and has been having a sporadic rough idle. At first the dealer gave him the run around about too much Idle time so we tried some seafoam in the filter cannister and one in the tank to try to clear the rough idle up. The rough hidle seemed less prominant after the seafoam treatment but it was still there. He took the truck to the dealer and they reflashed the computer with a TSB according to my brother. The truck runs smoother but has lost a conciderable amount of power, does anyone have any knowledge about a TSB for rough Idle on an 06? Or why this reflash would lower the power?

If this helps get any answers the TSB that he had done was 18-005-06. After the TSb was performed the truck just felt sluggish and less powerfull at higher RPM's. He took it back to the dealer and they said there was nothing they could do. They told him to take it to another dealer.....

Is it possible that the Sea Foam in the fuel tank cleaned out some gunky stuff from the tank that is stopping up the fuel filter? If he hasn't changed the fuel filter recently, that may make a difference in the power. Just a guess.

It may have not been the TSB that is causing the power loss.

I just had that Re Flash done on my 06 and other then better shifting and a little better fuel economy my power is exactly the same as it was before. That TSB should have nothing to do with power loss. Sounds like its another issue....

As you can read below, I am new to this 24 valve in a new 06. All I know real well the the 12 valve.........

But, I spoke briefly with my dealer this am about getting that TSB done for the exsessive white smoke--hoping to increase my fuel miles--like everyone else,.......anyway, my dealer told me that they'd be happy to do it but be aware that alot of people had complained that their result was a less peppy truck. Kinda makes since, reduce fueling to get less whire smoke, but also reduces power.

Can anyone chime in and verify?

Thanks guys, the dealer is refusing to look into it any more. We did change his fuel filter with the seafoam treatment. His truck only has 5k on it so I dont think there could be too much gunk build up. I guess he will just have to live with it since the dealer will not reflash.

That TSB should also be Rev.B,maybe they didn't check for an update.Just go to another dealer,I think some of those Service Writer guys don't even know what a TSB is.One dealer looked at me with a blank look on his face when I asked him if my truck which I got in Aug. would have been updated before they handed it over to me ,probably not was the reply.

Yes...mine was revision B, and I had to print it on the Internet and actually hand it to the tech directly because I knew I would get that "blank look" when I asked about the re flash....
